Replacing wheel bearings
If you remove the wheel bearing, it will collapse. Therefore, the wheel bearing is extruded is impossible to check its condition. To remove the wheel bearing housing, see. P. 13.1. After removing the bearing housing or loosen the bolts fastening the ball joint, or disconnect it. Remove the shock absorber base from the knuckle; - After removal of the bearing wheels make adjustment of the angles of the front wheels. To replace the wheel bearing: - Remove the brake disc (bolt) and a reflector knuckle (3 screws); - Put the knuckle to the wheel hub front side down on the press and squeeze the wheel hub by means of the mandrel through the press wheel bearing. The installation method of the mandrel shown in figure 289. The force may be applied only to the underside of the hub; - Thoroughly clean the inside of the bearing bore and remove the lock ring of the wheel bearing (forceps to remove the retaining rings);

- In the position of the steering knuckle on press (see. Fig. 289), squeeze the wheel bearing to the outside. Use of this mandrel, which has a size corresponding to the outer ring of the wheel bearing;

- Squeeze the inner ring of the wheel bearing using dvuhzahvatnogo puller (Fig. 290); - Thoroughly clean the knuckle. Receiving opening knuckle cover graphite grease Molykote. How to assemble: - Put the bearing housing at the press wheel (see. Fig. 289) Press fit bearing and install the retaining ring; - Put a news hub and wheel bearing housing Press fit with installed bearings into the hub. Use a piece of pipe, the diameter of which corresponds to the inner diameter of the bearing to the bearing housing Press on the wheel and the wheel bearing up to the stop on the hub of the wheel; - The rest of the work carried out in the reverse order with respect to the process of withdrawal.
