To remove the intermediate shaft must be removed from the motor vehicle. The intermediate shaft is located in front of the engine. To be able to remove the intermediate shaft, pump must be removed and all the details of the valve timing; cylinder head at the same time can remain in place.
The flange sealing ring has a return opening the bottom and must be set accordingly. The flange defines an axial clearance of the shaft and must be replaced if the axial gap is greater than 0.25 mm (contact surface is worn out). Axial play can be determined by means of the indicator. To do this, set the indicator shaft and shake back and forth. O-ring creates a tightness of the flange on the motor side. If the flange has been unscrewed, it is necessary to replace the O-ring disposed on the inner side of the flange.
