Replacement of the left shaft seal flange for vehicles with differential lock
Withdrawal Remove the rear final drive Secure universal tool VW 771 on the left shaft flange.
Remove the O-ring shaft flange using a universal tool VW 771 and puller VW 771/37 (Fig. 3.170).
Setting
Fill the space between working with the dust and sealing lips half with grease G 052 128 A1. Check before you install the boot shaft flange damage. If necessary - replace the boot

A stubborn old ring with pliers, remove from the groove of the shaft flange (Fig. 3.161). The new thrust ring, do not stretch, set in the groove of the shaft flange. Press in the shaft flange with a plastic mallet. Install the rear final drive Check the transmission oil level at the rear of the main gear.
