Hydraulic bucket tappets

All motors equipped with VW T4 hydraulic bucket tappets, which reduce noise in the actuator and valve, moreover, do not require maintenance under adjusting valve clearances.

Work pusher plate

When the engine pusher plate 203 is unloaded when the cam 184 of a cam 185 is located at the top. In this case, the spring (d) decompresses compensator 204 so that it rests on the bottom of the valve stem 195 and the top of the push pin (a) pushes the pusher plate 203 to the camshaft.

In this position all of the holes (f) are blocked and the engine oil can not flow in either or flow out of the working chamber (s). As soon as the pusher plate is loaded cam rotating camshaft ball valve (c) closes and is present in the chamber oil, because of its incompressibility will work as one solid body. Thus, the distance (L) for each revolution of a cam will accordingly adapt to the changing size of the mating parts.

External signs of a hydraulic pusher plate is swept oil groove and the lack of shims.

A warning

Noises in the drive when starting the engine valves are normal. With the engine stopped, depending on the position of the cam follower is extruded from a higher or lower amount of oil. This leads to the appearance of noise, it does not stop until Hydropusher is, while the engine is not re-filled with oil. Depending on the circumstances, this process may last as long as the engine has warmed up to operating temperature.

To ensure flawless operation hydropushers, the cylinder head is blocking oil leaks, preventing leakage of oil from a complete cylinder head with the engine stopped.

Check

Hydraulic lifters should be checked, if the engine reaches operating temperature noise in a drive of valves is not lost.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Warm up the engine in motion, left to idle until the radiator fan.
2. Within 2 minutes, raise the engine speed to 2500 rev / min.
3. If hydropushers still emit a loud noise, switch off the engine and remove the cylinder head cover. Turn camshaft until the cams is checked the cylinder will not be directed upwards. To do this, install the transmission in neutral, apply the parking brake and turn the crank bolt for the pulley suitable key clockwise.

A warning

Do not turn the bolt for the camshaft drive gears, as this will lead to an overload of the toothed belt. Crankshaft and camshafts can be rotated in the following way: switch 5 transmit and push the machine forward or backward.

4. Press the bucket tappets down a wooden or plastic wedge. If this backlash will be felt more than 0.1 mm, the poppet plunger replaced.

A warning

After installing a new hydropusher, for about 30 minutes to run the engine can not otherwise collide with the valve piston, which can lead to their failure.
