Shelving for valve train parts

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove cylinder head.

If the items drive valves will be installed again, they must be installed at the old place. In order not to confuse parts is recommended to make a special rack foam (see. Fig. Shelving for the valve parts).

2. Remove the camshaft.
3. Mark bucket tappets and remove.

A warning

Bucket tappets stored face down (the side facing the camshaft).

4. Remove the valve springs. To do this, the factories use a special tool VW-2037. You can also remove the conical biscuits, valves and springs with conventional, commercially available pliers valve springs. But then require additional removal of the intake and exhaust manifolds.
5. Compress valve springs and remove the cone crackers. Remove the top plate of the valve springs and spring. Remove the valve.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installing the valve check valve guides and, if necessary, to bring or grind valve seats (see. Subsection 2.10.3).

A warning

New plates of springs of valves on the bottom holes edging cone crackers places have very sharp edges that can damage the valve stems (risks, etc.). Damaged valves replaced. If necessary, before you install, remove burrs from the valve spring plates.

2. Install the bottom plate of the valve springs.
3. Clean burr on the valve stem in places adjoining cone crackers.
4. Because of security conditions after dismantling of valve stem seals are always replaced.
5. Lubricate the valve stem with a thin layer of oil and install valve.
6. Push the new valve stem seal.

A warning

If the installation will be done without the use of a plastic liner, valve stem seals are damaged! In this case, there will be a overruns oil!

7. Install the spring. If the valve spring will be replaced, then replace the springs in pairs (just two).
8. Set the upper plate of the valve springs. Plates valve springs are outside the wide chamfer (A) and chamfer the inside (arrow B).
9. Compress the clamp to compress the spring and install conical crackers so they went into the groove of the valve. Loosen the clamp and set the next valve.
10. Check the axial clearance of the camshaft (see. Subsection 2.7).
11. Lubricate all bucket tappets engine oil and install the holes according to the markings.
