Replacing the oil seal on the input shaft gearbox removed



On vehicles with manual transmission M5P / M5D to replace the gland follow these steps:
a) remove the clutch fork and a rubber sealing element;
b) remove the guide sleeve bearing clutch;
- Clean the area around the guide bush;

- Remove the two screws (Fig. 5.36);
c) Install a new oil seal in guide sleeve;
- Lubricate the seal lip contact grease Volvo 1161001-1;

- Press in the oil seal until it stops with the special tool 999 2413 (Fig. 5.37);
d) set the guide sleeve bearing clutch (Fig. 5.36):

ATTENTION
Seals gearbox M3R should be changed at specialized service stations special tool.

- Set the sleeve into place (lightly tap);

- Put the two screws and tighten to 25 Nm.
On vehicles with manual transmission M3R to replace the gland, follow the steps:
a) Mount the special tool for mounting the guide sleeve:
- Clean the area around the guide bush;

- Set the tool 999 5636-1 on the guide sleeve and press in until it stops (Fig. 5.39).
- Put the two screws and tighten them to a torque of 30 Nm;

- Establish a support 999 5636 gearbox and fasten bolts (Fig. 5.40);

- Screw extractor tool 5336-2 999 999 5576 (Fig. 5.41);
- Open the air valve to the piston is released from the cylinder;
- Close the air valve;
b) remove the guide bushing with stuffing box:
- Heat transmission in the area of the guide bushing to 60 ?� C for 6 minutes;

- Place the tool with stripper 999 5576 999 5636-2 (Fig. 5.43) on top of the tool 999 5636-1;
- Open the air valve to the cylinder on the support leg.
- Close the air valve.
- Remove the guide sleeve of the gearbox, creating pressure pump 999-5576.
Heat the gearbox again if the guide bush will not come out, and if necessary, tighten the screws on the tool 999 5636-1 even more (Fig. 5.41);
- Remove the tool 999 5636-1 with the guide sleeve;
- Clean the mounting surface of the gearbox.
c) set the guide sleeve with the seal into the gearbox:

- Mark the gearbox oil at the channel (Fig. 5.42);
- Set the tool 999 5636-1 a new guide bush (do not attach), leave the plastic sleeve inside the guide sleeve;
- Apply mounting paste 1161006-0 on the mating surfaces of the guide sleeve and gearbox;
- Set the guide sleeve in the gearbox housing by aligning the mark on the oil channel (Fig. 5.43);
- Place the tool on the tool 5636-1 999 999 5636;
- Place the tool on the tool 5636-3 999 999 5576;
- Open the air valve;
- Tighten the tool 999 on the tool 999 5636-3 5636-1 two bolts;
- Close the air valve;
Press in the guide tube as far as possible to the transmission;
- Remove the special tool;
- Remove the protective plastic cover of the guide sleeve.
