Replacing the engine oil and oil filter



According to the manufacturer's recommendations engine oil should be replaced after one year of operation, or 10 thousand. Kilometers, depending on what comes first.

HELPFUL ADVICE
In severe operating conditions, in a large city, or very dusty areas, and change the oil filter every 5,000 km.

You will need: engine oil, oil filter, clean cloth, return oil tank with a capacity of not less than 5 liters, the key is "19", a special wrench to loosen the oil filter.

HELPFUL HINTS
Oil is drained after a trip while the engine is still hot. If the engine is cold, empty and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
Pour the oil of the same brand as that of oil, which has been in the engine. If you decide to replace the brand of the oil, flush the oil system flushing oil or oil of the brand, which will be used. To do this, after draining the old oil pour new labels to the bottom of the dipstick. Start up the engine and let it run for 10 minutes at idle. Drain and only then replace the oil filter. Now you can fill with new oil up to the required level (up to the upper mark on the dipstick).

A WARNING
Do not pour used oil on the ground.

1. Clean with a wire brush and then with a cloth drain plug on the oil sump of the engine. Unscrew the drain plug, pre-substituting tank drained oil ...
2. ... and drain the oil.

A WARNING
Be careful: the oil is hot.

3. Turn the plug.

NOTE
Cork sealed copper washer. If the puck is strongly crimped, be sure to replace it.

The oil filter mounted on the front part of the engine block near the cylinder 4.

5. ... and remove it.
6. Check the cleanliness and mobility protivodrenazhnogo valve.

HELPFUL HINTS
To loosen the oil filter, use a special key. If such a key or similar stripper no knock the filter housing with a screwdriver and, using it as a lever, remove the filter. Knock the filter as close to the bottom, so as not to damage the socket. You can use the strip in half and rolled coarse sandpaper, wrapped it and filter it from place stronuv hands.

7. If the O-ring of the new filter is not processed by the manufacturer grease or talcum powder, brush the ring with clean engine oil filter and screw in place (hand without tools) 3/4 turn after contact between the ring and the cylinder flange.
8. Remove the oil filler cap ...
9. ... and remove it.
10. Pour clean engine oil (see. "Checking and topping up oil in the lubrication system"). Reinstall the oil filler cap.
11. Start up the engine and let it idle for a few minutes (the indicator light oil pressure should go out after 2-3 seconds after starting the engine). During operation of the engine, check for oil drips from the drain plug and oil filter. Stop the engine, check the oil level, add oil if necessary, pull the plug and filter.
