Checking the parking brake



The parking brake should hold the vehicle on a slope of 25% when the lever in the car for 7-9 teeth (clicks) ratchet device.

1. To check the parking brake adjustment find a parking space close to your car rack, or the loading ramp height H = 1,25 m when the length of the entry L = 5 m (Fig. 4.5). This ratio corresponds to the slope of 25%.
2. In the absence of such a ramp for easy checking the parking brake put the car on level ground. The shift lever is set to neutral, lift completely the parking brake lever. Get out of the car and try to move him. If you manage it, you need to urgently adjust the parking brake (see. "Adjusting parking brake").
