Repair of the primary shaft



You will need: a stripper for retaining rings, universal puller.
1. Xpress neck with the back bearing of a primary shaft ...
2. ... and remove the bearing from the shaft.
3. Release the lock ring of the gear unit ...
4. ... and remove the ring from the shaft.
5. Xpress gear unit with necks ...
6. ... and remove it from the shaft.
7. Inspect the input shaft and the gear unit. The working surfaces of gear teeth should not have chips, traces of wear and chipping, the ends of the slots gears - chipping, chipping and jams. Bearings, lubricated with gear oil, should rotate easily, without noise, knocking and seizing. The surfaces of the rolling elements must not have any trace of fatigue failures. Bearing cage must not be damaged. When replacing the input shaft, check the ease of movement in the clutch disc.
8. Assemble the input shaft in the reverse order. The rear bearing is pressed onto the shaft by applying force only to the inner ring, or the bearing is damaged.
