Check idle speed

Before checking the idle speed, make sure that the spark plugs, fuel injectors, the modulator speed of idling (ISC), compression, etc. They are in order.

Test conditions

  • The engine should be heated-up coolant temperature 80-95 ? C.
  • Headlights, dimensional illumination, radiator fan and all consumers of electricity should be turned off.
  • Transmission should be set to the neutral position.
  • The steering wheel should be set to move straight ahead.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Connect a tachometer to the primary winding of the ignition coil or the scanner to the diagnostic socket.
  2. Start up the engine and leave it to the engine speed to idle.
  3. No more than 5 to increase the engine speed up 2000-3000min -1, and then let it run at idle speed for 2 minutes.
  4. By tachometer determine the idling speed.

The idle speed:

The engine of 1.6 liters: 850 ? 100 min -1
Engines 1,8 and 2,0 l: 700 ? 100 min -1
