Removing and installing engine and gearbox



Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a wire of "weight" and remove the battery.
  1. Remove the engine cover.
  1. Remove the air filter.
  1. Disconnect hoses from the oil cooler gearbox.
  1. Disconnect the connector from the EGR valve and the EGR vacuum hoses.
  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the elements of the engine (fuel injectors, sensor TDC of the first cylinder, etc.).
  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the alternator and starter.
  1. Drain the coolant.
  1. On vehicles with automatic transmission disconnect hoses gearbox oil cooler.

Label the hose before removing to avoid confusion when re-joining.

Be careful to avoid transmission fluid drained from the hoses. To eliminate the dirt close the ends of the hose plugs.

  1. Remove the upper and lower hoses from the radiator and remove the radiator.
  1. Disconnect the engine wire connection with "weight".
  1. Disconnect hoses from the engine and fuel return.
  1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum brake booster.
  1. Disconnect the coolant hoses going to a heater.
  1. Disconnect from a transmission cable of a drive of a speedometer.
  1. On a car with manual transmission disconnect a cable of coupling from the gearbox housing.
  1. Disconnect the transmission wire of connection with "weight".
  1. On vehicles with automatic transmission disconnect a cable transmission control.
  1. On vehicles with automatic transmission disconnect connectors from the switch lock and solenoid valve.
  1. On a car with manual transmission disconnect traction gear selection.
  1. Remove the filter and return hose from the power steering pump.
  1. Remove the tube from the air conditioner compressor.
  1. In the engine compartment, remove the dust cover, and remove the bolt of the universal joint of the steering shaft to the steering gear.

To properly reconnect note mutual position of the hinge of a steering shaft and steering gear.

  1. Raise the vehicle and remove the front wheels.
  1. Remove the bolts, remove the caliper and a soft wire fix it on the rack front suspension.
  1. Remove the screws and remove the lower portion of the knuckle on the rack.
  1. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
  1. Fix the clamps lifting mechanism for the eye and lift the engine so that the unloaded weight of the engine support.
  1. Support gearbox hydraulic lift and remove the bolts and nuts to the engine frame.

Check that the engine and disconnect the electrical connectors, hoses, pipes and wiring harnesses.

  1. Remove the engine support and the gearbox.
  1. Remove the bolts and nuts sub-frame.
  1. Tilting gearbox, lower down and remove the engine together with a transmission from the car.
