Checking the ABS hydraulic unit
ATTENTION Before connecting (or disconnecting) tester Hi-Scan, turn the ignition key to the "Off? (OFF). Extend the jack and place under it to designated support columns or set verifiable wheel drum brakes on the stand. |
ATTENTION During the test, the drum brake tester and the tire should be dry. When testing the front brakes put the car on the parking brake, and when testing the rear brakes to lock the front wheels. |
Release the parking brake lever and check the rotation resistance force (drag torque) on each wheel. When using the brake stand, write down the values of the resistance forces on each wheel. Turn the ignition switch to ?OFF? and connect Hi-Scan tester or Hi-Scan Pro, as shown in the figure. Install the gear shift lever (models with a manual transmission) or the selector lever (models with automatic transmission) to the neutral position, then start the engine.
NOTE If the ABS system has been turned off the alarm function, the test actuators using Hi-Scan tester can not be performed. |
With Hi-Scan Tester forcibly engage the actuator under test.
