This chapter focuses on the procedures of repair and maintenance of engines V8, which does not require extraction of such a vehicle. All information concerning removing and installing the engine, as well as the overhaul of the block and the cylinder head can be found in Chapter Procedures and general overhaul of the engine.

Description given in the text of this part of the chapter is made up of procedures based on the assumption that the engine is not removed from the vehicle. If the engine is removed and installed on the stand demounting for a complete overhaul, many of the intermediate steps of descriptions will be applicable.

The specifications given in the beginning of this part of this chapter apply only to the procedures described herein. Specifications concerning the procedures of repair and restoration of the block and cylinder heads are given in Chapter Procedures and general overhaul of the engine.

The engine, which is devoted to this Chapter are engines V8, overhead-valve mechanism (ONV), volume 5211 cm 3 (5.2 L) equipped with hydraulic tappets and roller type electronic fuel injection system.
