Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Drain the cooling system (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance).
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  4. Relieve pressure in the power supply system (Chapter power supply system and exhaust).
  5. Rotate the drive belt tensioner mounted units so that there was an opportunity to remove the belt type belt pulley. Remove the belt.
  1. Wrench on the tensioner bolt, the last turn in a clockwise direction so that there was an opportunity to remove the drive belt from the tensioning pulley.
  1. Remove the generator (Head of System of an electric motor). On models equipped with air-conditioning compressor, remove and set it aside.

Do not disconnect any refrigerated line.

  1. Give the three mounting bolts of the pump system hydrostrengthening steering. Put the pump side, by setting it so that thereof leaking hydraulic fluid.
  1. Access to the bolts fastening SPLA hydrostrengthening steering system is possible through the hole in the pulley.
  1. Remove the tension roller (it blocks access to one of the bolts of the bracket). Give bracket bolts of the generator / compressor to the front wall of the engine and remove the bracket.
  1. Access to one of the bolts of the bracket is closed idler pulley - Remove the roller, give the bolt and the arm.
  1. Mark and disunite electric sockets of each of the fuel injectors. Disconnect all vacuum lines attached to the intake manifold and the throttle body.
  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors fuel injectors and mark them carefully to ensure correct installation connection during assembly.
  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors remaining on the intake manifold and the throttle and, pulling up perekin'te all wiring harnesses through the intake manifold and enter them for the engine.
  2. Remove the complete fuel lines and injectors (Head of the Power supply system and exhaust). Both fuel lines may be extracted by pulling vertically upwards together with fixed therein injectors, however, for the extraction of the intake pipe injectors require some effort.
  3. Remove the engine upper radiator hose, and then unplug the heater hose and the overflow hose from the water pump inlet pipe.
  1. Disconnect the hose from the pipe heater and water pump bypass hose.
  1. Disconnect draft gas (Chapter power supply system and exhaust system) and, if the vehicle is properly equipped, Tempostat cravings. On models with AT disconnect from the throttle cable of a drive throttle kickdown mode (TV-cable).
  2. Give the two screws securing the cover of the distributor (use the replaceable head with 1/4 inch drive and a suitable extension). Disconnect the spark plug (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance). Spend the distributor with spark plug wires behind the intake manifold and remove them from the engine compartment.
  3. Remove the vacuum distribution on the driver's side of the pipe and move it to the opposite side of the engine.
  4. Take the two mounting bolts of the tube exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) to the location of the passenger side of the exhaust manifold (Section Removal and installation of final collectors).
  5. Remove from the rear portion of the inlet pipe EGR valve, - it must provide access to the EGR pipe fitting, screwed into the rear portion of the intake pipe directly under EGR valve. Pick up the handset EGR.
  6. Remove the intake manifold with attached thereto the throttle body. Once the pipeline would be separated from the engine, make sure it is disconnected from all the wires and lines.

Do not attempt to pry the pipeline, the head of the lever between it and the engine block and the cylinder head, as this can cause damage to the mating surfaces with the emergence of the latest loss of vacuum.

  1. The inlet pipe is rather cumbersome and heavy - before final removal from the engine, make sure it is disconnected from all the wires and lines.

Setting

The mating surface of the cylinder head, block and piping must be the last before installing thoroughly cleaned. Available in special solvents and aerosols to soften the traces of the old gasket material - ask in shops of automobile accessories. Strictly follow the manufacturer's instructions compositions.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Clean the EGR channel traces of soot and grime. With gasket scraper to carefully remove all traces of the mating surfaces and sealant material of an old lining, then wipe the surface with a cloth soaked in acetone. Availability mating surfaces should sealant or oil when installing the pipeline is fraught with the emergence in the near future as oil leaks and loss of vacuum. Cover the cavity of the valve lifters placing a cloth to prevent the ingress of debris into the engine. To remove debris and sawdust from the intake port in the cylinder head, use a vacuum cleaner.
  2. Taps desired size banish thread bolt holes, blowing with compressed air and then the hole (if possible) for the removal of these chips.

When using compressed air, always wear safety glasses.

  1. Lubricate the cylinder heads facing toward the new intake manifold gasket thin layer of sealant RTV.
  2. Install the pipeline at the side of the head. Usually laying labeled reverse side of the pipeline marks LT (left) and RT (right) in this case would be the installation of a single-valued. Make sure the pads have been installed on the right side and aligned openings of the intake ports, cooling channels and the bolt holes.
  1. The gaskets must be installed on the right side; some of them can be fitted with labels LT (left) and RT (right) reversed into the pipeline side, but be sure to follow the registration holes ports and ensure that the cutouts of the side pads aligned with the tabs on the back and front of the head gasket cylinder (arrow).
  1. The set of new pads can be nested plastic guide pins, which are put into the holes on the edges of pads in the front and rear of the unit. If these pins are embedded, be sure to use them. If the pins are not included, squeeze in a little hole in the block of sealant RTV. Apply a thin uniform layer of rapidly solidifying sealing putty on the end of an inlet pipe and contact surfaces of the cylinder block and push pads to the unit, giving RTV sealant squeezed out through the holes in the pads. See. The instructions supplied with a set of gaskets.
  1. Squeeze RTV sealant into the holes under the guides (arrows) on the ends of the pads.
  1. If the engine is running more than 80 000 km (50 000 miles) in the available set of gaskets intake manifold, and now will be the time to replace the gasket between the intake manifold and the throttle body.
  2. To the bottom of the pipeline pribolchen sump chamber overpressure. If necessary, remove the tray and carefully smooth mating surfaces.
  1. Remove the pan chamber overpressure from the bottom of the inlet pipeline and smooth out interfaced surfaces.
  1. Set the pan on the pipeline, replacing the gasket and profit bolts by hand. Tighten bolts with demanded effort in three stages, and in the order shown in the illustration below.

Order of a tightening of bolts of a pallet chamber overpressure.

  1. Grease the four corners of the intake manifold gasket on the engine sealant RTV, but not squeeze too much sealant - it should only slightly protrude above the front and rear pads.
  1. Grease RTV sealant four corners where the pads are joined to the side spacers.
  1. Carefully place the pipe in place.

Try not to move the pad and in any case does not move the pipe back and forth after he would be pinned to the front and back seat, otherwise the pads may be shifted, it is easy to miss, but in the very near future, this will result in oil leaks.

  1. Install the intake manifold bolts and tighten them by hand. Then tighten the bolts with demanded effort in three stages, and in the order shown in the accompanying illustration.

Two front and two rear bolts are located closest to the water channels, so before installing the nut threads must be lubricated with silicone.

  1. Further installation is made in the reverse order of removal. Start the engine and carefully check for oil leaks, vacuum and coolant through the joints of the mating surfaces of the inlet pipeline.
