Checking tire pressure

Location signs with the recommended tire pressure
Fig. 1.190. Location signs with the recommended tire pressure

Check the pressure in all tires monthly, including the spare. Checking the air pressure must be carried out on cold tires. In order to ensure the best combination of ride and handling, as well as a long service life of tires, maintain the recommended tire pressure (see. The label on the door, Fig. 1.190).
Monitor the air pressure is only on cold tires.
Normally, to a warm tire air pressure exceeds the recommended value. Do not vent the air from the tires warmed up, in order to bring the air pressure back to normal. Inadequate air pressure leads to poor fuel economy, uneven and accelerated wear of tire treads, tire deterioration stocking density on the shelves of the rim. This can lead to spontaneous descent tire rim.
Too high tire pressure impairs smooth running, resulting in uneven and accelerated tire wear and increases the risk of tire damage from road irregularities. Keep tires at the recommended air pressure. If you often pump up the tire, check the condition of the tires and wheels for damage.
