Remove the cotter pin and remove the pin with the pin hole (Fig. 10.18). Remove the pinch bolt, nut and washer. Disconnect the return spring, and remove the brake pedal. Inspect the items for wear sleeves, bend or damage to pedal, wear or deterioration of the lining pedal, deformation and damage to the coupling bolt or weakening of the return spring. Before installation grease contact surfaces of clamping bolts, bushings and pin head and the cotter pin hole lubricant based on white lithium. Installation is performed in reverse order of removal After installation, adjust the position of the brake pedal and a free wheeling follows. Measure the height of the installation of the brake pedal, which should be in the range 21,41-21,51 mm.

If you want to carry out the adjustment, disconnect the connector from the brake light switch, loosen the locknut and turn the breaker switch housing so that the height of installation of a pedal (Fig. 10.19) corresponded to the desired. Tighten the lock nut and connect the connector to the switch. Repeatedly press the brake pedal with the engine off for removing the vacuum in the brake servo, and then check the brake pedal free play, which must be within 71,12-88,9 mm. If adjustment is required, loosen the locknut and turn the pushrod. Tighten the lock nut when the magnitude of the required freewheel. With the engine off as much as possible, press the pedal and measure the distance between the pedal and the floor. When load 53 kg distance should be at least 11.5 cm. If the distance is less, first remove the air from the hydraulic brake system, and then check the condition of the rear brake drum brakes and automatic slack. Make sure that the brake hoses are not inflated under pressure.
