Removal of air from a hydraulic drive of brakes

The air in the brake hydraulic drive significantly reduces braking efficiency. He can get into the hydraulic actuator due to system depressurization at repair, replacement of separate knots or a brake liquid. The presence of air in the drive indicate an increased brake pedal travel and its "softness". Before air removal check up tightness of all knots of a drive of brakes and their connections.
You may need pumping hydraulic system all four brakes if the air got into the system due to the low level of brake fluid or brake pipes have been disconnected from the master cylinder.
If the brake tube was disconnected on only one wheel, it requires the removal of only the air of the working cylinder (or caliper).
If the brake tube was disconnected in the area between the master cylinder and any of the wheel brake, it is necessary to remove air from the part of the braking system, which comes to the brake fluid on the tube disconnected.
If the car shot the brake master cylinder, remove the air before installing it.
If the master cylinder is mounted on the car, but we know that it has the air must be bled before bleeding the service brake cylinder (or caliper). Removal of air from the brake master cylinder mounted on the car, as follows.
Repeatedly press the brake pedal with the engine stopped to break the vacuum in the brake servo.
Remove the lid from the tank and fill it up with brake fluid, then in the process of removing air monitor the liquid level in a tank, adding liquid as necessary. Replace the cover.
Detach the front brake pipe from the master cylinder.
Allow the brake fluid to fill the master cylinder until it will come from the connection to the front line.
Connect the front brake pipe to the master cylinder.
Have an assistant slowly depress the brake pedal and hold it in this position.
Loosen the nut on the front line of brake system on the master cylinder, then tighten slowly release the brake pedal.
Wait 15 seconds (this is very important).
Repeat the procedure, including a pause of 15 seconds, until all the air is out of the master brake cylinder.
When the front connection is completely free of air, in a similar manner to remove air from the rear connection.
Before removing the air from the individual working brake cylinders or calipers, do the following.
Repeatedly press the brake pedal with the engine stopped for removing the vacuum in the brake servo.
Remove the cap from the master cylinder reservoir and fill the brake fluid, then in the process of removing air Check the level of liquid in a tank, adding it as needed. Replace the cover.
Then perform the work with an assistant. You need the container with fresh brake fluid, empty clear plastic container, a set of tubes length 500 mm, plastic, rubber or vinyl to connect to the union of removal of air and a wrench to loosen and remove the air fitting wrap. The car is better to raise and fix on supports.
Starting with the right rear wheel slightly loosen the bleed nipple, and then tighten until dense, but quick and easy to loosen.
Put one end of the tube to the bleed nipple, the other end lower in the capacity of the brake fluid.
The assistant should press several times on the brake pedal to pressurize the system, and then hold the pedal down.
When the pedal is depressed, release the union of removal of air to brake fluid began to emerge from the union. Watch the bubbles of air coming through the submerged end of the tube into a container. When the flow of fluid to weaken, close the bleed nipple, and ask the assistant to release the brake pedal.
Repeat these steps until the tube is out will be a brake liquid without air bubbles, and then tighten the bleeder valve and go to the left rear wheel, front right wheel and the left front wheel. Be sure to check the fluid level in the reservoir. Never use old brake fluid because it contains excessive moisture, which will worsen the condition of the braking system.
After removing the air refill the brake fluid reservoir.
If you have any difficulty in removing air from the hydraulic system or not an assistant, you can buy a kit for squeezing. After attaching it according to the instruction of each vent nipples can be alternately opened to remove the pressurized fluid prior to release air bubbles, wherein during pumping is not required to fill the tank.
