The main brake cylinder

Purchase a repair kit brake master cylinder. It has all the parts necessary to repair. Especially we need to replace the rubber parts, especially seals. It is also very important to establish reliable and gaskets in the desired direction. Be careful when repairing: grease solvents or mineral foundation should not be in contact with rubber parts.

The main brake cylinder
Fig. 10.11. The main brake cylinder 1 - the brake fluid level; 2 - a cover of a tank;
3 - the brake fluid reservoir; 4 - the plug; 5 - a nut; 6 - O-ring seal; 7 - locking screw; 8 - thrust ring; 9 - the primary piston assembly; 10 - the secondary piston assembly; 11 - assembling the master cylinder; 12 - the master cylinder; 13 - the brake pipes

Disconnect the brake pipes from the master cylinder. To collect the leaking fluid put under the brake master cylinder rags or newspaper. Disconnect the connector from the brake fluid level, remove the two nuts securing the master cylinder and remove the brake master cylinder from the vehicle (Fig. 10.11).
Drain the remaining brake fluid reservoir. Remove the tank, tightly holding the brake master cylinder reservoir and shaking from side to side.
Install the brake master cylinder in an upright position (the front part should be facing down), press the primary piston and remove the thrust washer.
Remove the primary piston. The repair kit provided the item for replacement.
Wooden rod, click on the secondary piston, remove the O-ring and remove the screw.
Tap the master cylinder on the wooden beams to extract the secondary piston.
Remove the spring from the front portion of the secondary piston.
Remove from the secondary piston and the rear strut cylinder cup seal, gaskets and valve seals on the two sides of the rear piston.
Remove the sleeve tank, cap and float.
Clean the brake master cylinder and inspect the hole for signs of corrosion and damage. If found significant traces of corrosion or damage, replace the brake master cylinder.
Inspect the tank for cracks and wear sleeve, if necessary, replace them with new ones.
Before assembly, lubricate all components with clean brake fluid.

Location piston seals on the secondary master cylinder
Fig. 10.12. Location piston seals on the secondary master cylinder

Install valve gasket in front of the secondary piston. Place the piston seal (open part forward) (Fig. 10.12).
Replace the secondary piston seal central open part forward.
Set back the secondary piston seal the open side to the rear.
Install the O-ring on the screw fastening of the secondary piston.

Repairs
Purchase a repair kit working brake cylinder.
Remove the union of removal of air and shake out the steel ball. If you want to retrieve the ball tap the wheel cylinder on a wooden board.

A WARNING
Avoid getting brake fluid on the paintwork of the car, because it can destroy it.

Remove the dust covers and pistons of the cylinder bore, and then separate the cases from the pistons.
Click on the piston from one side hole for removal, and to extract the cup spring and the spring.
Clean the working brake cylinder with brake fluid, denatured alcohol or using purification plants brake system. Under no circumstances do not use oil-based solvents to clean parts of the brakes.
Use compressed air to remove excess fluid from the working brake cylinder and blow channels.
Check the cylinder bore for signs of corrosion and seizure. To remove them is permitted processing holes fine sandpaper, but you must replace the cylinder if it is impossible to eliminate the defect or hole has a teaser.
Lubricate the new cups and master cylinder bore with clean brake fluid.
Install a spring cup and cup spring piston in a cylinder.
Make sure that the cups are properly installed (the open ends of the cup should be directed inwards).
Install new covers on the pistons. Lubricate the piston with clean brake fluid. If the repair kit includes a set of lubricant for the brakes, apply grease inside the covers (or according to the instructions).
Set the pistons and cylinder covers the brake, make sure that the covers are placed correctly.
Install the steel ball and screw the union of removal of air.

Setting
Position the working brake cylinder, hand tighten the flare nut of a brake tube and check that there are no distortions.
Replace the brake cylinder mounting bolts and tighten them.
Tighten the union nut of a brake tube assembly and set of brake pads.
Install the brake drum and adjust the hub bearings. Install the wheel and secure with the nuts.
Remove air from a hydraulic drive of brake system and lower the car.
Lubricate the primary and secondary pistons with clean brake fluid.
Wooden bars push the secondary piston in the bore of the master cylinder. Slightly compress a spring and screw the screw.
Insert the primary piston spring forward. Slightly compress a spring, then install the thrust ring.
Lubricate the sleeve tank, install the tank on a solid surface and swing it, press them the body of the master cylinder reservoir.
Set the float brake fluid level.

The gap between the primary piston and the brake servo pushrod
Fig. 10.13. The gap between the primary piston and the brake servo pushrod

In theory, you need to measure the gap between the primary piston and the brake servo pushrod (Fig. 10.13). The manufacturer for this purpose produces special tool 49 V002 765. If not available, to determine the depth of the recess in the primary piston and the vacuum booster pushrod protrusion using a depth gauge or a similar tool. The recommended without the application of vacuum to the amplifier is 4,06-6,09 mm.
Adjustment is made by rotating the vacuum booster pushrod retained nut.
Every time when removing the master cylinder is necessary to perform a full hydraulic pumping system. Time for a pumping system can be reduced if the master cylinder filled with liquid and pumped or "test overclocked way" to install it on the vehicle. Fill the brake fluid reservoir and slowly push the plunger over the entire length, using a wooden rod or Phillips screwdriver. Before the release of the piston lock brake line connections to prevent air from entering the brake master cylinder, and then release the plunger. Repeat this procedure until the compounds of the line until the braking system will not be allocated brake fluid without air bubbles. Be careful - do not let that during pumping uncovers the tank.
Position the master cylinder to the brake booster heels and toes without distortions tighten union nuts of fastening of brake tubes.
Tighten the nuts of the main brake cylinder.
Tighten the union nuts of fastening of brake tubes and connect the connector to datcha
