Check, adjustment of a tension and replacement drive a belt
The wear belts
| 1. Acceptable wear
2. Cross-section cracks on the edges of the belt
3. Unacceptable wear
4. There are no edges adjacent areas of the belt longer than 1 cm
5. Cracks parallel to the edges of the belt |
Check PERFORMANCE ORDER | 1. Examine the drive belt over the entire length on both sides for the presence of cracks or traces of wear. | | 2. Check the belt tension by pushing the belt in the middle between the two pulleys and measure a belt deviation (1) using the line (4). Make sure that the line is perpendicular to the (2) Rail (3).

Tension adjustment PERFORMANCE ORDER | 1. To adjust the belt tension of the pump system hydrostrengthening steering and air conditioning compressor on models with four-cylinder engine, remove the coupling bolt of the pump and the locking bolt, and then tighten up an adjusting bolt, reducing or increasing the belt tension. | 2. On models with four-cylinder engine to adjust the belt tension of the water pump and generator, loosen the fixing bolts of the generator and tighten up the adjusting nut. | | 3. On models with a six-cylinder engine to adjust the belt tension of the pump system hydrostrengthening steering and air conditioning compressor, loosen the top nut of the tensioner and tighten up an adjusting screw (arrow). | | 4. On models with a six-cylinder engine to adjust the belt tension of the water pump and generator, loosen the bottom nut (1) tensioner and tighten up an adjusting bolt (2). |
|
Replacement PERFORMANCE ORDER | 1. Loosen the belt tension and remove it from pulleys. | | 2. If one belt needs to be replaced, it is recommended to also replace the other belts. Installation diagram belts typically shows the name plate located in the engine compartment or on the hood. | 3. Install new belt in reverse order to removal. |
