1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature. |
2. Prepare the tools you need to check the ignition timing. |
3. Connect the stroboscope. |
4. On models Ford Probe remove the jumper from the connector connection SPOUT, located between the battery and diagnostic socket connection. Connect terminals TEN and GND a diagnostic socket connection. | |
5. Start the engine and direct a stroboscope beam on the mounting line and the yellow mark on the crankshaft pulley. If the yellow mark does not coincide with the desired mark on the mounting line, remove the retaining bolt and turn the ignition distributor valve as needed. |
6. Tighten the mounting bolt and recheck the ignition timing. |
