Removing and installing radiator (for engines of 2.0 and 2.3 liters)

With long-term operation of the car section of the channels in the radiator are narrowed due to salt deposits on their walls. As a result, the cooling efficiency of the radiator is reduced, resulting in engine overheating. In this case, the radiator requires replacement.

SEQUENCE OF WORK
Withdrawal
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

A WARNING
This removes the codes entered in the storage device, such as a radio code.

2. Remove the lower panel of the engine compartment.
3. Drain the coolant.
4. Remove the fan with viscous coupling.
5. Remove the fan shroud.
6. If there is a fan assembly, remove it together with the housing.

Detach coolant hoses from the radiator
Fig. 5.33. Detach coolant hoses from the radiator 1, 3 - coolant hose; 2, 4 - the oil passage; 5 - the radiator

7. Disconnect from a radiator hoses 1 and 3 (Fig. 5.33) cooling system, after loosening and sliding clamps.
For models with automatic transmission:
8. Clamp jaws oil lines 2 and 4 (Fig. 5.33), reaching the gearbox and from it. Observe the sterility. Junctions clean the outside of alcohol.
9. After disconnecting close the ends of pipes with plastic bags and secure them to the tubes.
For all models:
10. Remove the air intake.
For models with air conditioning:
11. Remove the grille from the front cross beam and pull it to this jaws rotate by 90 ?.
For all models:

Removing the spring clips of the radiator

12. Disconnect the radiator 3 (Fig. 5.34) radiator hose 2, after loosening and sliding the back collar.
13. Remove the spring clips 1.
For models with air conditioning:
14. Remove the five screws and remove the front cross member.
15. Unhook pull open the hood of the cross and remove it.
For all models:

Removing the air duct
Fig. 5.35. Removing the air: 1 - the air; 2 - a radiator; 3 - lock the fan shroud; 4 - fan shroud; 5 - rubber support of a radiator

16. Remove the air duct 1 (Fig. 5.35) from the radiator 2.

A WARNING
Do not open the refrigerant circuit. In case of skin refrigerant can cause local freezing.

For models with air conditioning:
17. Remove from the radiator and the condenser, without disconnecting hoses, suspend it.
For all models:
18. Remove the radiator upwards.
Setting
19. Check hoses for cracks, cuts and other injuries.
20. Check the rubber feet 5 (Fig. 5.35).
21. Install the heat sink 2 from the top so that it guides into the holes in the rubber feet 5 foot rail.
22. Attach the radiator duct 1.
For models with air conditioning:
23. Attach the condenser to the radiator.
24. Install the front cross member and fasten the five bolts.
25. Attach the traction on the cross to open the bonnet.
For all models:
26. Install the air intake.
27. Insert the spring clips 1 on top (Fig. 5.34) radiator.
28. Connect the radiator hose cooling system and fix their collars.
29. Fixed nut oil lines tighten to 20 Nm and remove the clamps.
For models with air conditioning:
30. Install the radiator grille, insert both clips in the holes and turn 90 ? to the right.
For all models:
31. Install the fan cover, if removed.
32. Install the fan with viscous coupling.
33. Install the fan housing with the guide if it was filmed.
34. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
35. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
36. Start up the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
37. Check the tightness of all connections.
38. Check the coolant level, top up if necessary.
39. Type codes in the memory.
