Cranking the engine

In a series of papers on the engine requires that the pistons in the cylinders to each other are exposed in the upper dead point. For cranking the engine to TDC there are several ways.

SEQUENCE OF WORK
1. Place the vehicle on a jack as the replacement of the rear wheel, turn the 4th or 5th gear. The crankshaft will rotate when the rear wheel rotates freely. You will achieve the same effect, if a little push the car forward.

You can also turn the engine socket wrench 27, putting it on the crankshaft pulley nut (Fig. 4.17). The engine must only be turned clockwise.
2. Remove the head cover and turn the engine, the cams of the first cylinder on the camshaft looked straight up. For a more accurate setting, slightly cranked shaft in either direction so that the mark on the pulley drive belt coincides with the mark on the block.
3. To ensure the correct position, turn the crankshaft back and forth until the TDC mark on the pulley is aligned with the pointer on the engine block.
