The camshafts are driven by the crankshaft via a two-lane circuit (so-called duplex chain). Camshaft gear is twice the number of teeth than the crankshaft gear. Therefore, the camshaft speed is half the speed of the crankshaft (Fig. 4.20). With unregulated (stretched) side of the circuit limits the special plate (damper circuit), on the other hand it presses the tensioner shoe. Checking chain wear

If you experience noise, check the state of the circuit (Fig. 4.21). When you wear the chain lengthens. This elongation leads to deterioration of the camshaft gears. In the worst case can break the teeth of the gears and the chain slip, resulting in serious engine damage. When checking the chain and timely detection of wear and tear it is sufficient to replace the chain and camshaft gears. If heavy wear replace all of the drive chain. This work is carried out in the workshop by experts. Chain tensioner Located on the right side of the cylinder head. Through the tensioner shoe presses the chain. His force is made up of the built-in spring force and pressure oil passing through the tensioner. The oil in the tensioner also smoothes the load during heavy chain tension. Faulty belt tensioner must be replaced. New pre-tensioner lubricate with engine oil.
