Electronic stability program, based on a system ABS / ASR, reduces the risk of skidding. When cornering at high speed or abrupt maneuvers leveling the ESP system recognizes the risk of skidding vehicle (Fig. 8.5). For this purpose it receives from the sensor information on the steering angle and based on the vehicle speed determines the rate of its displacement relative to the vertical axis. Unstable position of the vehicle instantly detected. By braking individual wheels and torque control motor vehicle is held in a predetermined path. For example, if you turn there is a danger of demolition out of the front wheels, the rear wheel is braked within the turning radius and the position of the vehicle is stabilized. If the fast turn there is a danger of skidding the rear of the car, the system brakes the front wheel, passing the outer radius of the turn. The work informs the ESP pointer lights up in the instrument cluster. In this case, to reduce the risk of skidding driver must bring the style of driving according to the road conditions.
