Check the cooling system pressure

Tools to test the cooling system pressure

4800-1 - Hand Pump
4800-2 - Hose
4800-15 - Nozzle

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Leakage in the cooling system and the functioning of the safety valve in the lid can be tested using a commercially available instrument. To do this, fit the following tools HAZET: 4800-1 hand pump with a hose nozzle 4800-2 and 4800-15.

If the cylinder head gasket replaced before checking the engine warm up to operating temperature and let it cool. This ensures the tightness of the cylinder head gasket.

When the engine is hot before opening surge tank cover it with a thick cloth to avoid burns due to exposure to hot coolant and steam. The cover should be removed only when the coolant temperature is below + 90 ? C.

1. Turn ½ turn to the left on the expansion tank cap and relieve the pressure in the cooling system. Then turn on the cover and remove it completely.
2. Set the heater in the cabin at the maximum power.
3. Check the coolant level, if necessary add a liquid, refer to the appropriate section.

4. Set the tester to the nipple to fill with fluid. With the help of the pump device, create a pressure of about 1.4 atm. If the pressure drops, the leak and fix leaks.

illustration is only informative, and can not fully comply with this model.

5. If the pressure drops, and there is no liquid leakage, the reason may be an internal leak in, e.g., due to damage to the cylinder head gasket or due to the presence of crack in the housing.

Checking the safety valve

PERFORMANCE ORDER

The safety valve located in the cover of the expansion tank. Its mission is to open the cooling system and draining the liquid when it reaches a certain pressure.

1. Screw the lid (2) on the device to control (1).

illustration is only informative, and can not fully comply with this model.

2. Create the required pressure specified in the specification. The safety valve opens in two stages. The vacuum valve opens when a vacuum.

On the cover of the valve opening pressure is shown in bar. x 100. If, for example, on the cover is "140/200", we are talking about a two-step the cover and the valve opening pressure of 1.4 and 2.0 atm.
