Changing the coolant - general comments

Refer also to Section Check of functioning of the cooling system and the coolant frost. Substitution fluid.

The coolant should be replaced for repair of the cooling system in which liquid is discharged. If the repair replaced head block, the cylinder head gasket, radiator, heat exchanger or an engine, the coolant must be replaced. In the process of circulating anti-corrosion additives are deposited on the new parts of the light metal and thus form a durable anti-corrosive layer. The used coolant anticorrosion additives usually not enough to form a sufficient protective layer on new items.

Attention! Drain coolant must not be used again. Coolant is poisonous and should not be merged with household waste.

Remove

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Set the interior heater to maximum temperature.
2. Raise the vehicle and place it horizontally on the stand. Operation lifting and car installation on supports is connected with danger! Therefore, prior to the operation to check out the Poddomkrachivanie and towing Introduction to management.

When the engine is hot before opening surge tank cover it with a thick cloth to avoid burns due to exposure to hot coolant and steam. The cover should be removed only when the coolant temperature is below + 90 ? C.

3. Open the cover (1) the expansion tank (2). When the engine is warm, place a thick rag to cover. Slightly turn the cover to the left and release pressure in the cooling system. Then completely unscrew the cap.

4. Put under the radiator and engine block clean container.

5. Open the drain plug (3) on the radiator (4) and allow the coolant to merge into the outstretched the capacity.

To ensure accurate fluid from entering the container, put on nozzle (5) hose.

Coolant may also be discharged from the cylinder block. In this case, put a hose on the drain fitting on the right side of the cylinder. Open the hexagon socket and drain the liquid in the container outstretched. The torque specified in the specification.

6. Drain the liquid.
7. Tighten the radiator drain plug and remove the drain hose.
8. Lower the car on wheels.

Filling liquid

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Prepare a new coolant.
2. Pour the liquid through the expansion tank.

Fill the system with liquid slowly, taking care so that no air bags.

3. Check the coolant level, refer to Section Check of levels of liquids, the control of leaks.

Removal of air from the cooling system

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Start the engine when the cover of the expansion tank and run the engine at idle.
2. Set the heater in the cabin at the maximum temperature.
3. Keep an eye on the liquid level in the expansion tank, extending it to mark MAX.
4. Warm up the engine until the coolant temperature 60 - 70 ? C or heating to the upper radiator hose. Then close the cover of the expansion tank.
5. Run the engine revolutions to 1500 - 2000 per minute so that the radiator fan turned on and turned off again.
6. After this, stop the engine.
7. Visually inspect the cooling system, in particular the connecting hoses as well as the drain tube and pump coolant leaks.
8. Allow the engine to cool down and check the coolant level, if necessary add a liquid.
