The recirculation system (EGR system)



1. Designed to reduce NOx in the exhaust gases by reducing the combustion temperature of the combustible mixture. This is achieved by redirecting some of these gases through the EGR valve into the intake manifold. The design of the valve depends on the type of transmission and expected vehicle operating conditions in this region. Failure of the system affects the operation of the engine, causing erratic operation at idle and at low speeds, "failures" during acceleration. The system consists of a recirculation valve and control their valves (or pneumatic valves). On a part of cars work recirculation valve controls the differential valve (VRTklapan).
2. The system is installed on car engines 4tsilindrovyh 198,788 GV and V6 engines from 1987 operation of the system controls the processing unit ECU, which is part of the processor system ECCS car. Recirculation valve is opened when the engine is started, the engine is cold, at speeds above 3200

Check the EGR valve
3. Locate the valve (see photo).
4. Check the freedom of movement of the diaphragm, submitting it up (photo). When scuffing diaphragm valve replace.
5. Start the engine and close the valve by hand, pushing the diaphragm (wear gloves). The engine should lose momentum and even stall. If the engine speed does not change, then check the condition of the exhaust gas sampling tubes. If a check valve is provided, then eliminate it by connecting a hose damper valve and recirculation valve. Warm up the engine and bring the engine to 20002500 / min. Disconnect the EGR vacuum hose diaphragm should slowly drift down with the growth of turnovers. Attach the hose with decreasing revolutions diaphragm should slowly move down.
6. If the diaphragm does not move, check the suction valve. To do this, disconnect the vacuum hose, which should be felt depression. If depression is present, replace the EGR valve. Otherwise, check the condition of the hose, serviceability damper valve.

7. Remove vacuum hoses in the upper part of the valve.
8. Remove the valve. Stop one of the unions and try to create a vacuum through another fitting if be able to create the vacuum, the valve is defective (air must flow freely in the direction of suction). Create pressure on the bottom of the choke valve, and the air passing through the vacuum nozzle should not. Otherwise, replace the valve. Before installing the valve blow hoses.

9. On a cold engine, disconnect the vacuum hose to the valve recycling, start the engine and check the growth of dilution. If depression increases immediately, TW, replace the valve. If the engine is warm there is no vacuum, check the condition of hoses. If the hoses are serviceable, TW, replace the valve.
Check the damper valve
10. Remove the valve and blow from the connection to the valve recycling air must pass freely. In the opposite direction of air should pass easily. Otherwise, replace the valve.

Replacement
