Thermocouple for heated rear window - removal and installation
1. The thermocouple consists of a set of horizontal wires embedded in the glass molding step. 2. Slight damage to the wires can be removed by yourself, take the glass is required. 3. To check the operation of the rear screen, start the engine and turn on the heater. 4. Connect to the mass of the wires warning lamp, and another wire tap wire heater. 5. Push the Power wire along the wire right to left, the radiance of the lamp at the same time should increase. If the brightness of the lamp is the same on both ends of thermocouple wire, check the connection of the heater to the ground. All wires must be checked at least two places. 6. To repair the heater need a special conductive paste with silver powder (commercially available). 7. Turn off the heater and wait until it cools down. 8. Lightly polish the damaged area with a soft steel wool, rubbing alcohol. 9. Stick the pieces of adhesive tape on both sides of the damaged portion, so that the gap between the segments match exactly with the track of the wire on the damaged site. 10. Dip into a paste strikingness pen and draw a line across the gap between the segments of the ribbon so that the strip of pasta slightly overlaps the damaged area. 11. Carefully remove the pieces of tape and deposited dry track air soldering iron with a temperature of 250-350 ?� C for 1 to 2 minutes at a distance of 2-3 cm to the glass. 12. If necessary, restore the color of the damaged section of tincture of iodine. Recycled heater can be turned on at least 24 hours.
