Checking the system of preliminary heating of the diesel engine



Location sensor (A) the coolant temperature

1, 3 - contact electrical connector

Test conditions

Power to the vehicle must be not less than 11.5 V.

The engine control unit must be in good condition.

The fuses in the voltage supply to the glow plugs are undamaged.

Check
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the coolant temperature sensor. See Fig. Location of the sensor (A) coolant temperature.
In this state, the engine management believes that the engine is cold and when the ignition will be preheating of the diesel engine.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the glow plug.
4. Connect a voltmeter between one of the glow plugs, and weight of the car.
5. Turn on the ignition. This voltmeter should show that within 20 seconds a voltage is applied to the spark plugs.
Otherwise, check the electrical power supply circuit glow, locate and repair.
