General information on repair electricians of the car

ATTENTION
When disconnecting and connecting the battery, always observe the sequence of actions described in the workshop manual.

ATTENTION
Some tools have a safety loop, which, after use of the tool should be put to the working part of the tool to protect the instrument from damage and worker injury.

Any repair Observe the instructions in the corresponding manuals.
Observe the rules in force in the country.
Before working with electrical equipment necessary to disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
Unscrewing the wire of weight from the battery (cessation of current in the circuit), to secure work on electrical equipment. Unscrew the positive terminal is only necessary to remove the battery.
Before starting the repair, you must first remove the cause of damage, such as body parts with sharp edges, faulty electrical consumer, corrosion.
When repairing wiring board network is prohibited to perform welding work.
Repair wiring and connectors onboard power supply may only be carried by a set of cables for repair.
When repairing only use cable wires yellow.
The renovated space is prohibited to re-wrap the wires in a standard automotive electrical tape, these places must be marked by yellow tape.
Yellow wire and place indicated by the yellow tape to indicate that there was previously renovated.
Crimp the sleeve repair is prohibited. If possible, conduct a new parallel wire damage.
After crimping crimp sleeve need to sit down, to prevent moisture ingress into.
Be sure to follow the additional instructions to repair wiring systems airbags and belt tensioners, fibers, wires, bus CAN, antenna cables and wires up to 0.35 mm2.
After each repair you must test the repaired item. When considered necessary, the fault memory, to clean them and / or return the system to its original position.
If possible, do not remove a wire of weight from the body (danger of corrosion).
Repair wiring systems airbags and belt tensioners
In addition to the general repair of the repair wiring harness systems airbags and belt tensioners need to follow these guidelines

ATTENTION
The system of airbags and seat belt pretensioners may fail.
Failure to comply with regulations in the repair wiring harnesses pretensioners and airbags can lead to failure of passive safety systems.
When repairing wires airbags and belt tensioners are allowed to use only approved contacts, plugs and wires.

NOTE
Wires airbags and belt tensioners only be repaired by a repair kit cables.
Follow the instructions on the labels of the car, on the elements of a high voltage. If repair work is necessary to relieve residual pressure.

Wire airbags
Fig. 7.124. Wire airbags

Wire airbags or belt tensioner be repaired no more than two places (Fig. 7.124).
Places where was repaired, increase the electrical resistance, and thus may cause undesired self-diagnosis system.
When repairing the wiring harness of the airbag module and seat belt tensioner ferrules must always be seated in order to prevent corrosion.
When repairing only use cable wires yellow.
Do not wrap the repaired place of standard tape, it should be marked by wrapping the yellow tape.

The distance from the connector housing
Fig. 7.125. The distance from the connector housing

Renovated in the field of airbag and belt tensioner must be no further than 30 cm away from the next connector housing (Fig. 7.125).
However, the designation of yellow insulation tape it provides an easy overview of the repairs.
Wires to the squib (airbag) in series production have a twist pitch of 20 mm ? 5. This step is indicated by twisting in the series production of standard parts for the numbers of pairs of wires, so the repair should always follow the step-twisted wires.

Step twist
Fig. 7.126. Step twist

When repairing the wires to the squib (airbag) must be the same length. When twisting the wires 1 and 2 must necessarily be sustained lay length A = 20 mm ? (Fig. 7.126).
It does not have to be formed piece of wire, for example, in welded contacts is longer than B = 100 mm without twisting the wires.
