Control ball bearings



Ball joints are axial (up and down) and radial (back and forth) backlash. Check it should always be to check the state of suspension ball joints. The vehicle must be on at the same time reliable support, as the work is carried out from below.
To check the ball bearings, proceed as follows:

- Undertake wishbone suspension arms, as shown in Fig. 275, and move it by applying considerable efforts in the direction of the arrows. The gap is almost not be felt. This axial clearance;

- Undertake the wheel, as shown in Fig. 276, and move it back and forth. This radial clearance, which should be substantially equal to zero;
- Check rubber dust cover ball bearings for damage. If defects are found appropriate support must be replaced;
- Cause excessive play may be a wheel bearing or upper bearing shock absorber.
