Removal and installation of control arm



Suspension arm can be removed in two ways. Firstly, you can unscrew the screws on the inner side of the lever and remove the ball joint from the shock absorber. The second method is that it is possible to loosen the bolts on the inner side of the lever and bolt connecting the ball joint and the lever on the outer side. You can use any method.
To remove, proceed as follows:
- Loosen the wheel nuts, set the front of the car on support and remove the wheel;
- With a jack to lift the outer side of the lever carefully (under the wheel hub);
- Remove the lever if the ball joint is in the cradle, what do the following:
- Disconnect the ball joint described above from the lower side suspension arm;
- On the inside of the lever forward to turn side-mounted bolt. Bolt tightened big moment;
- On the inside of the turn lever mounted below the bolt;
- Disconnect the stabilizer bar from the control arm, which turn away a nut, located on the lower side. Remove the metal plate and the rubber bearing. Pay attention to how you set these items, especially on the position of the metal washers. Rubber Bearing facing conical surface to the control arm;
- Lower the jack and squeeze the lower arm down until the pivot ball joint does not come out of the shock absorber;
- Release the lever. Push the control arm from the front of the mount and remove it from the hole in the rear sub-frame;
- Remove the lever, which is disconnected from the ball joint, which requires:
- On the outer side of the control arm noted below contour plate ball joint, that it can be again bolted in the initial position (see. The ball joint replacement);

- To turn away from the bottom three screws 6 (see. Fig. 263) mounting plate ball joint and remove the plate 3 from the upper side;
- A little squeeze out the shock absorber base, to loosen the connection;
- On the inside of the lever arm, unscrew the front side-mounted screw;
- On the inside of the arm, unscrew the set screw from the bottom;
- Lower the jack. Print wishbone front by clicking on it from the support and remove it from the hole in the rear subframe.
Installing the control arm is held in reverse order of removal. Torques see. The application and related drawings. When installing the ball joint to follow the instructions in Section. 12.5.1.
