Installation of the moment of ignition

Ignition timing control can be performed only if the memory does not register any failure. Ignition is controlled with the engine idling. All vacuum hoses must be connected to the socket. The damper is labeled Z (Fig. 131), the ignition timing. The label on a belt pulley with the correct settings should be in front of the label.

Installation of the moment of ignition (TDC (G) and label setting the moment of ignition (Z) on the adjustment plate must match the label on a pulley)
Fig. 131. Setting the ignition timing (TDC (G) and label setting the moment of ignition (Z) on the adjustment plate must match the label on a pulley)

To set ignition timing is necessary to:
- To verify the idle speed. If you achieve a flawless idling it is not possible, control the ignition timing does not make sense. Ignition timing must be checked and, if necessary, and configure when the distributor was dismantled or replaced. If the idle speed is not satisfactory, then at least it has the opportunity to start up the engine to get to the car repair shop, which will adjust the idle speed;

- Connect the strobe in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions (Fig. 132). Used instrument must necessarily be suitable for electronic ignition system;
- When the engine is idling direct beam lamp crankshaft pulley and check whether the ignition timing in line with the setting mark of ignition. All engines ignition timing should be in the range of 2-7 ?. The premise here is to warm up to operating temperature of the engine (the oil temperature is at least 80 ? C);
- If installation of the ignition timing is within the specified range, then setting the ignition timing is not necessary. These values indicate the position in degrees in relation to the top dead center;
- If without setting the ignition timing can not do, then loosen the bolts of the distributor, and expand it. Thus it will be possible to quickly determine which direction "floats" label ignition timing. When installing a new ignition timing should always strive to bring the setting to 5 ? BTDC. Deviation of ? 1 ? is, however, permissible;
- Tighten the bolts again and again to check the ignition timing;
- Disconnect strobe and fasten the wire to the terminals.
After the installation of the moment of ignition described manner to set the speed equal to 3000 min-1. At such speeds the moment of ignition should go ahead on a number of degrees. Exact values are as follows:
- Engine ADX - 33-39 ? before TDC;
- Engine AEA - 30-36 ?;
- Engine AEV - 39-45 ?.
New engines manufactured since 1996 are consistent with the engine AEA. If not, you should contact the service station.
