Safety precautions when working on ignition system



To avoid electrical shock or damage to the ignition system when carrying out any work on the ignition system should observe the following precautions:
- Persons with a cardiac pacemaker is forbidden to carry out work on the ignition system if necessary to deal with removing the wires;
- Do not disconnect the high voltage wires with the engine running, do not touch them hands at the start;
- Disconnecting any wires from the terminals of the ignition system should be carried out only when the engine is not running. The same applies to the connection of instrumentation, and the ignition system must be disabled;
- To the terminal "1" of the ignition coil ("minus" terminal) Do not connect a control lamp and measuring devices and lamp with LED flash can not be connected to the terminal "15" of the ignition coil. Do not connect a capacitor to the terminal "1";
- If you want to scroll through the engine with the starter, for example, when checking the compression in the cylinder, then turn off the ignition and remove the plug Hall sensor on the side of the distributor of ignition;
- During the electric welding disconnect the battery;
- If the vehicle is towed due to a malfunction of the ignition system, it is necessary to disable the system control unit;
- If necessary, replace the ignition distributor rotor should definitely use the item specified in the instructions. The rotor has a corresponding designation, by which it can be identified;
- Engine washing should be done only when the ignition is off.
