Refitting



A warning
When carrying out the removal of the steering wheel note the presence of airbags. If you do not have sufficient experience and some do not have an experienced assistant, the work described below is not recommended.

When removing the air bags, note the following:
- Work on the removal and installation of airbags must be carried out only by persons who know quite well this operation;
- The battery should be disconnected. When connecting the battery (included pre-ignition) can not be anyone in the driver's seat;
- After removing the safety cushion upholstered stack up. Unauthorized persons, especially children, should not have access to the node airbags. If you accidentally drop the pillow, then, unfortunately, you have to install a new one.
Removing and installing airbag unit
To remove, proceed as follows:
- To disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery;
- Set the steering wheel to the position corresponding to a straight road;
- Unscrew the two hex head screws from the assembly of the airbag;

- Remove the airbag from the steering wheel and remove the pin (fig. 241) on its underside.
Installation is performed in reverse order. To fix, you should use the new hexagon screws. Tighten the screws only 7 N ?� m.

A warning
After installing the airbag assembly, you must first turn on the ignition, then connect the wire of "weight" to the battery. Being at the same time the driver's seat is strictly prohibited.

Removing and installing the steering wheel with airbag
To remove, proceed as follows:
- To disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery;
- Remove the airbag as described above;
- Remove the cover, located below the steering column switch;
- Remove the pin indicated in Fig. 241. If the cover is made of foam rubber, then remove it from the connector;

- Unscrew the hex nut of the steering wheel and remove the steering wheel to the steering shaft.

A warning
After removing the steering wheel slightly to deploy centering ring to the wire shown on Fig. 243, was turned down (hold the steering wheel with the position in the installation). The centering ring remains in the correct position and not turn. Failure to observe these precautions will unfold centering ring and it may be that being in the centering ring connector cable will experience excessive stress and collapse.

When installing the steering wheel, proceed as follows:
- Set the steering wheel, screw the nut and tighten to 50 Nm. The steering wheel is necessary at this secure from turning, holding the rim;
- Connect the connector of the airbag with pin connector under the steering wheel;
- Set the cover under the steering column. Pay attention to the fact that the place of connecting wires for the centering ring is in recess housing;
- Connect pin located in the casing of the steering wheel with the pin connector assembly and install the airbag unit of the airbag, as described above.

A warning
Turn the ignition switch and connect the wire of "weight" to the battery (ignition should always be switched on before connecting the cable to the battery).

In Fig. 242 and 244 show details, mounted on the steering column, and a headlight height of the steering column. To remove the steering column must be drill safety shear bolts with the appropriate drill bit.
To remove the steering column, do the following:
- To disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery;
- If the vehicle is equipped with airbag, then remove it, as described above. Other vehicles to remove a decorative trim in the center of the steering wheel;
- Unscrew the nut of the steering wheel. This should be done only if you intend to remove the steering wheel. Use this to face head with extension. The steering wheel is necessary at this secure from turning, holding the rim;
- Remove the steering wheel column;
- Remove the decorative trim to the underside of the steering column switch;
- Remove specified in Fig. 241 plug from the socket;
- Act in accordance with the instructions for removing the steering up to and including the contact unscrewing screws universal joint through the hole in the footwell;
- Use a screwdriver to press the wiring harness 1, as shown in Fig. 245;

- A box of anti-theft device, if installed, is in the position shown in Fig. 246. Disconnect the bolts of the box and remove the plug from the electric socket of the switch on the steering column;
- Drill indicated in Fig. 247 safety shear bolts. When drilling out, wear safety glasses;

- Disconnect the connector on the steering column combination switch;
- On the bottom side to disconnect the steering column from the intermediate shaft. Remove for this universal joint with a small gear and simultaneously remove the steering column, submitting it back.
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal. The nut on the universal joint must always be replaced. Safety - shear bolts tightened to break heads. However, it is necessary to ensure the reliability of landing of the steering column.
Disassembly and assembly of the steering column
Disassembly and assembly of the steering column (due to the nature of its construction) - a very complex operation. For this reason, it must be carried out in the workshop. In the case of any work may be used in Fig. 242 and 244.
On the upper side of the steering column sleeve is splined connection. In order to continue dismantling the column, the item must be removed with a puller with two jaws, which are got by the sleeve.
