Replacing steering rod
To replace the steering gear steering gear must be removed, as the rack and pinion could be damaged when replacing the tie rods at the established mechanism. When replacing the tie rod should observe absolute purity. To replace the steering gear necessary to perform the following operations: - Open the clamp fastening of a cover on that side and move the cover of steering draft in the outside. Remove all visible grease; - Hold the steering mechanism with a rack in the position shown in Fig. 251, in a vise with jaws of aluminum alloy;

- Set in the plane of the body ball joint wrench and unscrew the tie rod. The auto repair shop using the specified key in the figure to fix the ball joint; - Screw the new tie rod to the rack; - Once again hold the rack in a vice, screw in the tie rod and tighten to 80 Nm. Liberally coat rack grease AOF 063 000 04; - Reinstall the cover and fix it. The auto repair shops to use this special pliers. If not, ensure the reliability of the installation clamp. Cases should fit snugly to the body; - If necessary, replace the left tie rod size as indicated in Fig. 252, is equal to (350,5 ?� 1) mm. To the right tie rod (which is carried out subsequent adjustment of the toe) is approximately equal to the size of this value, without tightening the lock nut;

- After installing the steering mechanism to adjust the toe and tighten both locknuts to 50 Nm.
