The coil spring and shock absorber
Shock absorbers and coil springs are color-coded. Always install a spring with appropriate labeling. Gas-filled shock absorbers are installed in all vehicles. Shock absorbers can be replaced separately from the rest of the suspension. How to replace a spring or shock absorber:

- Compress a spring suspension device, which should take care of all the force of the spring. There are several options to compress the spring devices, one of them is shown in Fig. 288. If the spring clips are used, then these are wound on at least 4-5 turns of wire; - Remove the nut at the center of the upper support mounting rack. Since the piston rod can rotate, insert the end of the piston rod 7 mm hexagon and holding the piston rod, unscrew the nut with a wrench; - Remove the top support of the shock absorber and remove it beneath the bearing; - Remove the coil spring. If you do not plan to change the spring, the tensioner leave her; - Remove the protective cover and remove the rubber buffer;

- Check the quality of the shock absorber. To do this, insert the lower end of the shock absorber in a vise and pull out the piston rod and then insert it again. The resistance must be identical throughout the stroke of the piston damper. Assembly in reverse order on the process of dismantling. Install the removed parts (see. Fig. 287). Pay particular attention to proper installation of the support bearing. Also pay attention to the correct installation of the end turns of the spring, which should conform to the limiter at the bottom of the support cup springs (arrow on the shock absorber). Hold the hexagon piston rod stationary, tighten the nut on the rack to 60 Nm.
