Removing and installing starter
Removing the starter spend in the following order: - Disconnect "mass" wire from the output AB (do not forget the security code, radio); - Lift the front of the car and establish it on support; - Remove noise insulation below engine compartment; Progress has differences for the 2.0-liter engine and the engine VR6: 2.0-liter engine
| Fig. 337. The black plastic cover and the magnetic switch connector (2.0-liter) are indicated by arrows
Before disconnecting the wires from the starter, remove the black plastic cover and disconnect it is under an electric socket of the retractor relay (Fig. 337);
| Fig. 338. Location of terminals "30" and "50" on the magnetic switch is shown by arrows
- Disconnect the connector (terminal "50") of the magnetic switch and remove the nut terminals "30" (Fig. 338) and bend the wire to the side;
| Fig. 339. Under the nut (arrow) is located Nut
- Unscrew the nuts and bolts of a starter. Nut (Fig. 339) is wound on the adjusting pin; - Remove the starter. Install starter spend in reverse order, follow these steps:
| Fig. 340. When installing the starter, tighten the nut indicated by the arrow to 45 Nm
- Tighten the nut (Fig. 340) securing the starter torque 45 Nm; - Pay attention to the correct connection of wires; - Tighten the nut (see. Fig. 339) (above the already tightened to 45 Nm nut) to 10 N ? m; - Tighten the nut terminal "30" to 10 N ? m; - Connect the battery and enter the security code for radio and immediately check the operation of the starter. Removing and installing starter car with VR6 engine By car from the Sharan VR6 engine removal and installation of the starter is carried out as described above, however, due to the fact that several different fastening of a starter, has the following features:
| Fig. 341. When installing a starter (VR6 engine with a manual transmission) 1 nut and bolt 2 are tightened to 45 Nm
- The starter motor is mounted on the VR6 engine with a manual transmission with a bolt 2 (Fig. 341) and nuts 1 (when installing they are tightened to 45 Nm);
| Fig. 342. When installing a starter (VR6 engine with automatic transmission) on the dowel pin nut is tightened to 60 Nm
- On the VR6 engine with automatic transmission is mounted starter nuts on the mounting studs. Installation starter nut (Fig. 342 is shown by an arrow) is tightened to 60 N ? m;
| Fig. 343. When installing a starter (VR6 engine with automatic transmission), the lower nut is tightened to 60 Nm
- Tighten the bottom nut (Fig. 343, shown by arrow) securing the starter to the VR6 engine with automatic transmission torque 60 Nm;
| Fig. 344. Nut holder wire is tightened to 10 Nm
- Tighten the nut (arrow, Fig. 344), securing the wire retainer to 10 Nm, and a nut terminals "30" to 10 Nm.
