Cause of Failure | Remedy |
When you turn on the ignition warning lamp discharge AB |
1. Discharged AB. | 1. Start the engine using the auxiliary starting wire by the "Booster" or towing. |
2. Blown warning lamp. | 2. Replace the bulb. |
3. The wire is loose or oxidized AB corresponding terminals. | 3. Tighten the mounting wires. Check connections, if necessary, clean the terminals and the terminals of the battery. |
4. The electrical circuit is torn between the ignition switch, indicator lamp discharge batteries and generator. | 4. Refer to the workshop. |
5. Blown fuse in the mounting block. | 5. Replace the fuse. |
6. Defective carbon brushes or voltage regulator. | 6. Replace the carbon brushes and the voltage regulator. |
The warning lamp lights up when the engine |
1. Slip the alternator drive belt | 1. Adjust the belt tension. |
2. Open or short circuit in the diode field supply. | 2. Replace damaged diodes. |
3. Faulty voltage regulator. | 3. Replace the voltage regulator. |
4. Open one or more valves of the generator. | 4. Replace the rectifier unit. |
5. Open or Winding short circuit in the stator winding, closing it to the "masses." | 5. Replace the generator stator. |
6. Short circuit on "weight" the winding of the generator. | 6. Replace the rotor of the generator. |
Increased noise generator |
1. Loose nut securing alternator pulley. | 1. Tighten the nut. |
2. Bearing damaged generator. | 2. Replace the bearings. |
3. Winding short circuit or short circuit on "weight" of the stator winding. | 3. Replace the stator. |
4. A short circuit in one of the valves of the generator. | 4. Replace the rectifier unit. |
5. Scrape the brush. | 5. Wipe the brushes and slip rings cotton cloth soaked in gasoline. |
