The assembly of pistons and rods
Heat the piston to a temperature of 60 ? C (for that place them in hot water). Find a suitable mandrel, which enters the piston pin.

Hand insert the piston pin into the piston and connecting rod heated. In Fig. 429 shows how the piston must be positioned during installation of the piston pin. When assembling the piston and connecting rod should observe the following recommendations: - If re-using the old pistons, then follow the correct location you applied markings. When installing new pistons note marked by numbers on the pistons, ie 1/2 or 3/4;

|
- Cast lugs on the connecting rod and bearing cap (see. Fig. 423) must point in the direction of the intermediate shaft and the motor pulley; - Marked with a number of the cylinder must be the same on the connecting rod and bearing cap; - Insert the lock rings on both sides of the piston and ensure that they are firmly in the slots; - Check whether the piston moves freely on the rod back and forth.

With the help of a stripper for the piston rings (see. Fig. 425), install the piston rings one by one into the slots. If you do not have a tool for installation of piston rings, use the metal strips (see. Fig. 426). To do this at the level of the ring groove on the piston and pulling the metal strips, install the piston rings in their grooves. Check ring cross section before installation (Fig. 430). Both compression piston rings with one hand marked with the words ?Oben? or "Thor" and the marking shall be visible after the installation of the ring from the bottom of the piston. Before installing pistons fold collected on a clean surface and cover to prevent dust on them.
