Removal, installation and tension of the V gear belt

In September 1992, some 4-cylinder engine instead of the V-belts are equipped with V-toothed belts.

Check and adjust V-toothed belts are not required, as the spring-loaded, the tensioning device automatically maintains proper belt tension.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before removal note the direction of the belt. To do this, put on a fat pencil arrow.
2. Turn the lever of the tension wheel using a large screwdriver or a mount against the action of a tension spring and remove the V-notched belt.
2.0 liter gasoline engine (AAS)
3. Set the mount between the two projections Idler belt tensioner and turn the tension roller to the right until V timing belt is loose so that it can be removed from the tensioning pulley. Then loosen the top damper belt tensioner and remove the V-notched belt.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If the old belt will be installed, pay attention to the direction of the old movement. It must be installed only in this direction.
2. Push the V gear belt. Turn the lever of the tension wheel using a mount or large screwdriver in the direction opposite to the action of a tension spring and fit the belt on the tensioner roller. Then slowly release the belt tensioner.
2.0 liter gasoline engine (AAS)
3. Tighten the belt tensioner damper.

Machines without a tension roller

Refitting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Loosen the alternator mounting bolts.
2. Squeeze the generator mount down.
3. Remove or wear wedge toothed belt.
4. After installing the V-gear belt, scroll down the engine when the generator weakened several times (approximately 10 turns). For cranking the engine, use the assistance. This transmission should be in neutral position, hand brake applied.
5. Tighten the generator torque 25 Nm.
