Towing a vehicle with automatic transmission

When towing a vehicle with an automatic transmission should observe the following recommendations:
- Unlock the steering wheel, so that you can drive a car;
- Try to stick to the minimum allowed speed;
- Remember that when the engine is off are not working power brakes and steering (the force on the brake pedal will be about four times more than usual, and the wheel will rotate much more difficult);
- Do not make abrupt maneuvers;
- To avoid unnecessary jerks keep the tow rope is always taut.
- The gear lever must be in position N;
- The maximum permissible speed automatic transmission - 80 km / h;
- Maximum distance - 80 km;
- Vehicles with automatic transmission can be towed only forward (start the engine by towing is not possible).
There are also several additional recommendations to the owners using their cars with automatic transmission for towing, as the tractor:
- On long steep slopes is necessary to choose the position of the selector 4, 3, or L, if the trend of frequent shift gearbox;
- When driving down long steep slopes should select position 4, 3, or L (this will provide the best braking power of the engine);
- Never be the accelerator to hold the vehicle on the side (instead of the brake should be used), thus will be prevented unnecessary overheating of oil in the gearbox;
- In the case of extreme driving conditions for option V4204T3 / 5 with an automatic transmission may be an additional cooling pump.
