Liquid cooling system

Recommended coolant composition: a mixture of equal parts of water and antifreeze Volvo. If necessary, topping never top up the cooling system only water.
Do not mix different grades of antifreeze. Antifreeze prevents corrosion in the summer and ice in winter. Before leaving the factory car was filled with coolant that protects up to minus 35 ? C.
Cooling system capacity:
- 6.3 liters - petrol and diesel engines;
- 5.7 liters - petrol turbocharged engines;
- 6.0 liters - engines B4184SJ.
Regularly check the coolant level. The test should be carried out when the engine is cold. The level should be between MAX and MIN marks on the expansion tank. It is necessary to top up the coolant when the level falls to the MIN mark.
Coolant does not normally require replacement. However, if you replace the coolant alone, should ensure that the spent coolant disposed of in a manner safe for the environment.

A WARNING
If coolant is required to fill in when the engine is warm, gently loosen the cap to relieve excess pressure in the system.
