Generator





Cars equipped with alternators. Depending on the model, and mounted on the car can be installed electrical generators of various capacities. When installing additional electrical equipment, make sure that the power generator was enough to supply a new customer.
The generator drive is carried out by Poly-V belt of the engine crankshaft.
The generator is a three-phase synchronous electric car with electromagnetic excitation. To convert alternating current into direct current generator is integrated in the rectifier diodes. Voltage regulated microelectronic integrated voltage regulator.
When the generator is an electric current flowing through the field winding, around the poles of the rotor creates a magnetic field. When the rotor by the stator coils are alternately rotor poles, the magnetic flux changes in magnitude and direction, and generates in the stator winding electromotive force (current).
At high speed the rotor of the generator when the generator voltage becomes more than 13,6-14,6 In, the voltage regulator is locked and the current through the field winding does not pass. The voltage generator falls, the regulator opens and again passes a current through the field winding. The higher the speed of the rotor of the generator, the longer the controller locked state, therefore, the more decreases the output voltage of the generator. The process of locking and unlocking the controller comes with a high frequency, so the fluctuations in the output voltage of the generator is practically invisible and can be regarded as his permanent supported at the level of 13,6-14,6 B.
When checking the generator, as well as the operation of the vehicle is necessary to observe some simple rules that do not derive from the generator system:
- Do not operate the generator with the battery disconnected. When the generator is disconnected from the battery in the vehicle electrical system voltage boosting occur when disconnecting any power consumers, leading to failure of the electronic equipment of the car, including a voltage regulator and rectifier unit generator;
- Do not check the operation of the generator to the "spark", even a short-term positive terminal of the generator connection with "weight". At the same time through a rectifier unit runs a significant current and diodes damaged. Check the voltage of the generator can only be a voltmeter;
- Minus terminal of the battery must always be connected to "weight" of the car, and the positive connected to the generator terminals. Incorrect (reverse) to connect the battery to boost the current flowing through the diodes of the generator, and they will fail;
- Do not check diodes pressure more than 12 or Megger, as it is too high for a diode voltage. In this case, the diode will be pierced (a short circuit). When checking the insulation of the wiring Megger disconnect all wires from the generator;
- It is necessary to disconnect all wires from the generator and battery in the electric welding units body parts;
- Check the electrical circuits and components, and troubleshoot the engine stopped and the battery disconnected.
Before removing the generator, disconnect the battery, after finding out whether you have a code switch on the radio.
Switch off the ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery.
After the installation of the generator, connect the wire of "weight" to the battery.
Turn on the radio and enter the code.
Lift up the power window glass until it stops. Then press all the switches window again, at least 1, in the closed position of the control unit to activate windows.
Set the clock.
