Replacing brake pads on the rear drum brakes



The brake pads on the rear drum brakes

1 - Front brake pad support;
2 - a brake board;
3 - working brake cylinder;
4 - heck lever;
5 - Spreader bracket;
6 - the parking brake lever;
7 - the upper return spring;
8 - Rear brake shoes;
9 - a spring;
10 - Clip;
11 - brake drum;
12 - the lower the return spring;
13 - a spring regulator;
14 - the front brake pads.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the wheel and brake drum.
2. Remove the support clamp brake pads, spring automatic regulator and lever knob.
3. Squeeze the pad and remove the pad controller.
4. Remove the brake pads together with return springs.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Measure the inner diameter of the brake drum. Indicator of hour type check up palpation of a brake drum. Replace the brake drum if the inner diameter of the drum exceeds the limit.

Maximum diameter: 200 mm
The beating of the drum brake: 0.015 mm

2. Measure the thickness of the rear brake pads. Replace all the brake pads on the same axle of a vehicle, even if only one block has a thickness less than the maximum allowable.

Minimum thickness: 1.0 mm

3. Check the brake linings for contamination with oil or grease, deterioration and cracks.
4. Examine the wheel cylinders for leakage of brake fluid.
5. Inspect the brake shield for wear or damage.
6. Check the fit of the uniformity of the brake pads against the brake drum.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. greasing grease the following points of contact pads:
a. the point of contact with the brake pads brake board;
b. contact point with the brake pad backing plate.

Recommended lubricant: SAE J310, NLGI ?��2

2. Set the rack supporting the brake pad.
3. Install the return springs on the brake pads.
4. After installing the brake drum several times tighten the parking brake lever.
