Check the antifreeze concentration

Measure the specific gravity of the coolant using a hydrometer (Fig. 2.7). Measure the temperature of the coolant and antifreeze determine the concentration based on the relationship between specific gravity and temperature based on the data table above. Example: the temperature of the safe operation of -15 ?� C, when the measured specific gravity of 1.058 g / cm 3 at a coolant temperature of 20 ?� C.
Recommended coolant If the concentration of coolant is below 30%, the corrosion resistance of the cooling liquid is significantly reduced. If the concentration of more than 60%, it increases the crystallization temperature of antifreeze (reduced heat transfer efficiency), impacting negatively on the engine. Therefore, make sure that the level of concentration of antifreeze is within the specified range. Do not mix different brands of antifreeze.
