Compression Test
Before measuring the compression, check the level and condition of engine oil. Also, make sure that the state of the starter and the battery is correct. Start the engine and warm it up until the coolant temperature 80-95 ? C. Stop the engine. Disconnect the spark plug wires high voltage. Remove the spark plugs. Scroll crankshaft starter to remove foreign particles from the cylinder.
Set compression gauge in the spark plug hole (Fig. 2.8). Press the accelerator pedal to full throttle. Scroll crankshaft starter and read the compression tester. The nominal value of 1500 kPa. The minimum allowable value of 1400 kPa. Repeat the test for all remaining cylinders and make sure that the difference between the compression cylinder is less than the limit value. Limit: no more than 100 kPa If any cylinder compression does not correspond to the range of acceptable values or difference of compression in the cylinders exceeds the limit, pour a little engine oil into the spark plug hole of the cylinder and repeat the measurement. If the oil filling the compression is increased, the reasons for failure are worn or damaged piston ring and / or cylinder bore. If the oil filling the compression does not increase, it causes a burn-out or damage to the valve seat, or a gas leak (pressure) through the cylinder head gasket. The tightening torque of the spark plugs: 20-30 Nm.
