Checking the tightness of the cooling system

Remove the radiator cap.
Make sure the coolant level reaches the filler neck of the radiator.

Connecting the tester to check the valve radiator cap
Fig. 2.5. Connecting the tester to check the valve radiator cap

Connect the tester valve to the radiator cap of the radiator filler neck and create a pressure of 140 kPa. Hold this pressure for 2 minutes, check the coolant leaks from the radiator, hoses or connections themselves coolant hoses (Fig. 2.5).

NOTE
Coolant can be very hot. Do not remove the radiator cap, as it will lead to the release of steam and splashing of hot or boiling liquid and may cause injury to personnel. Get to work with the cooling system only after the cooling of the engine.

Carefully remove moisture from the surface of all the details to be checked for leaks.
When removing the valve tester to check the radiator cap of the radiator neck, try to avoid splashing coolant.
When connecting and disconnecting the tester, as well as during the inspection be careful not to deform the filler neck of the radiator.
If there is leakage, repair or replace the appropriate part.
