Check the liquid level in a tank of the hydraulic drive of the amplifier of a steering

Fluid reservoir assisted steering
Fig. 1.183. Fluid reservoir assisted steering

The level of liquid in a tank of hydraulic drive the power steering is necessary to calibrate each day. During this test, the ignition key is set to ?OFF?. The level of liquid in a tank of hydraulic drive the power steering must be marked on the tank "MAX" ("Max") and ?MIN? (?minimum?).

NOTE
Immediately after the engine is started at very low temperatures (below - 20 ? C) may sometimes be heard crunching coming from the power steering pump. If, as the engine warms crunch persists, it means the amplifier is operating normally. This is due to the special characteristics of the liquid at very low temperatures.

NOTE
Do not start the engine if the fluid reservoir is empty the power steering.

Hoses hydraulic drive the power steering
We recommend checking the hose connections of hydraulic drive the power steering at the intervals specified in the service book. Upon detection of cracking, wear or stains stretch hoses hydraulic drive the power steering must be replaced. Poor technical condition of hoses can lead to premature failure of the hydraulic booster.
