Towing a trailer or a vehicle

If the vehicle is used for towing, first check the local regulations. Terms towing trailers, cars, or other types of transport in different regions (countries) may vary.
Refrain from towing a trailer during the first 2,000 kilometers to provide details of the running (running) a new car. Failure to do so may cause serious damage to the engine or transmission.

Towing hooks
Choose the right combination of towing equipment, making sure that its location coincides with the point of attachment on the trailer or towed vehicle.
Use a towing device which evenly distributes the load on the chassis.
Hitch must be securely attached to the vehicle by a qualified mechanic.

ATTENTION
Do not use the towing hitch, designed for temporary installation and drawbar, which is attached only to the bumper avtmobilya.

Trailer with brakes
If the trailer is equipped with brakes, make sure that it meets the requirements of federal and / or local laws, and that it is correctly installed and technically sound.

ATTENTION
Do not connect a trailer brake system to brake the car.
When towing a trailer on a steep incline (greater than 12 ?), pay special attention to the coolant temperature of the engine to prevent it from overheating. If the temperature gauge engine coolant entered into the "H" ("Hot") scale, stop the car in a safe place and allow the engine to idle until it cools down. Thereafter, the movement can be continued.

The maximum weight of the trailer and the maximum load on the coupling

The maximum weight of the trailer and the maximum load on the coupling
Fig. 1.137. The maximum weight of the trailer and the maximum load on the coupling

The load on the coupling can be increased or decreased by redistributing the load on the trailer. You can verify this by checking the total weight of the loaded trailer, load on the coupling (Fig. 1.137).

NOTE
1. Do not load the trailer so that the rear section has been downloaded more than the front. 60% of the weight of cargo in the trailer should be in the forward half of the trailer, and the remaining 40% - on the back half.
2. The weight of a vehicle with a trailer should not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight (GVWR), indicated on the identification plate. Gross Vehicle Weight - is the weight of the vehicle, the driver and all passengers and their luggage, towing hitch, the load on the coupling device and other accessories.
3. The load on the front or rear axle shall not exceed the maximum load on the oc (GAWR), indicated on the identification plate of the car. Perhaps trailer weight does not exceed the gross vehicle weight (GVWR), but higher than the maximum load on the oc (GAWR). Improper loading of the trailer and / or too much luggage in the trunk of the vehicle may lead to an overload of the rear axle. Redistribute the load and again check the load on the axle.
4. The maximum permissible static vertical load on the coupling device is 52 kg.

5. The maximum permissible departure point of the clutch is 760 mm (Fig. 1.138).
